Providing Tauranga with a quality ‘Learn to Swim’ programme, teaching the best swimming curriculum in the highest quality water.

Class Duration

Classes run for 30 minutes with programmes catering from two months of age right through to those who are fully competent in all four swimming strokes. Liz van Welie Swim School prides itself on providing the very best in learn to swim for parents and their children and is set on delivering the very latest and highest quality swimming curriculum.

Children are learning bilateral freestyle breathing.

Refining backstroke.

Early stages of breaststroke kick on the noodle.

Children who have effective freestyle breathing and are learning breaststroke feet off the noodle.

Progression to the Main pool.

Backstroke with opposite arms (windmill).

Children who have effective breaststroke legs and are learning correct breaststroke timing, pull, kick and glide.

After the Liz Van Welie Aquatics Learn to Swim programme swimmers have two options. They can choose from a competitive or the fitness pathway.

Competitive Pathway

Swimmers choosing the competitive pathway will join the Drysdale Squad.

Fitness Pathway

Those who choose the fitness pathway will join the Fitness Squad.
